“A third of short-listed ideas are in the area of clean technology shows so many students' interest in this area, reflecting that this is an emerging industry. We believe that clean technology will, if not replace, supplement the oil and power industry,'' says Cyrus Vevrikar of IIT-B's entrepreneurship cell.

Nano-manufacturing technology solutions company Applied Material said that it would allow free access to all teams working on business ideas in the clean technology space.

Intel will sponsor the top three winners of Eureka 2008, to travel to the University of California-Berkeley and represent India in the American institute's business plan competition.

Also two best teams from the clean-tech category will go to Cornell University and present their business ideas.
