City of Tucson gets TCS Tax Mantra

BANGALORE, INDIA: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), an IT services provider, on Tuesday announced that the City of Tucson, Arizona has successfully implemented TCS Tax Mantra for tax revenue and licensing management.

The system would streamline the tax administration and collection process in the City of Tucson, leading to more efficient workflow.

The system is a complete, user-friendly tax administration solution with fully integrated processes that would replaces the old mainframe system in the city, said a company statement.

It would enable the city to streamline the business process of collecting taxes, provide taxpayer friendly services via the Web and integrate various departments to enable a paperless office.

“With deep knowledge of tax and revenue, we found TCS to be a trusted and reliable partner. This project has been the most successful software implementation in the City of Tucson’s history. TCS provided phenomenal client service. We were under budget and on time,” said Ellen Hitchings, Tax Administrator, city of Tucson.

He added that many of the tools and techniques used by TCS would now be implemented into future projects at the City to ensure the same level of certainty of results.

Tanmoy Chakrabarty, vice president and head, TCS Global Government Industry Solutions Unit said, “Our proven methodology and expertise in implementing Tax and Revenue systems and managing large engagements of this nature were instrumental in the success of this initiative with the city of Tucson.”

The statement mentioned that it would provide real-time monitoring of collection of delinquent accounts and has modules for registration, processing and assessment, taxpayer services, workflow, performance monitoring and evaluation and role-based administration.
