Citrix names new AVP

BANGALORE, INDIA: Citrix Systems, Inc, a provider of IT services, today announced the appointment of Sanjay Deshmukh as area vice president - India Sub Continent, Citrix Systems India Pvt Ltd.

Deshmukh would be responsible for the company’s entire operations including enterprise and field sales, services, technical pre-sales and the post sales functions. Deshmukh would be based in the Mumbai offices of Citrix, said a press release.

Prior to this, he was with SAP, as vice president for the Business User and Platforms business. He joined SAP as part of their acquisition of Business Objects where he was Country Manager India/SAARC from 2001 to 2008.

Deshmukh started Business Objects in India and built a team that succeeded in establishing Business Objects as a dominant player in Business Intelligence application space. Deshmukh’s other assignments include tenures with Informix, Tata Unisys and Binary Semantics.

Deshmukh said, “I am excited to have this opportunity to lead Citrix in India and take the business to the next level of growth. I look forward to working with an organization which is at the forefront of bringing to market some of the most innovative technology solutions.”

Deshmukh takes over from Souma Das, who leaves Citrix after tenure of eight years to pursue new opportunities, the release added.
