MUMBAI, INDIA: Cisco today announced its engagement with UST Global, a leading provider of services and solutions for Global 2000 enterprises, to transform UST’s upcoming campus in Thiruvananthapuram into a smart and intelligent campus with Cisco’s Smart+Connected Real Estate solution.
Cisco Smart+Connected Real Estate solutions converge building, safety, and communications networks onto the open Internet Protocol (IP) standard, streamlining processes by providing a single connection for building management and IT systems, the company said in a press release.
The IP-based network can dramatically reduce capital expenditure by simplifying building design and construction, and also enable building managers to reduce carbon footprint and build a sustainable and more energy-efficient environment. This can help the campus achieve a higher rating on the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, the company said.
Joe Nalkara, president, UST Global, said, “Through Cisco technology, we’re breaking new ground in terms of our infrastructure. This campus reflects our enduring focus on innovation and lives up to our promise of providing the very best for our associates and customers. We expect this to be the most intelligent campus in India.”
Cisco Services has been working closely with UST on this initiative and has helped design the technology roadmap and architecture blueprint.
G.B. Kumar, managing director, Asia Pacific Vertical Enterprise Practice, Cisco Services, said “We believe that this smart and intelligent campus of UST in Thiruvananthapuram will become the workplace of the future. A Smart+Connected campus can offer significant benefits to the company in terms of operating costs. It also goes a long way towards achieving the goal of a green and sustainable organization, in addition to the motivation and pride it brings to the employees.”
