Cisco touts 10,000 UCS customers

BANGALORE, INDIA: Cisco announced that it now has over 10,000 Unified Computing System (UCS) customers worldwide and claims to have 12.2 per cent share in the x86 server market.

This is a little over thousand new customers in the past three months. In the last quarter, ending in November, 2011, Cisco had a over 8,900 customers.

When Cisco entered into the server space three years ago, in 2009, it did not go well with its long time server partner HP, which eventually drifted away from this networking vendor.
