Cisco names new head for data center

MUMBAI, INDIA: Cisco India today announced the appointment of Rajesh Rege as senior vice president — Data Center, for India and SAARC.

In this role Rajesh will be responsible for driving and overseeing Cisco’s overall growth and expansion efforts in the datacenter space in this region. Rajesh is an IT industry veteran with over 22 years of experience, said a press release.

Prior to Cisco, Rajesh worked with Alcatel Lucent as vice president-Global Alliances, managing a portfolio of India based partners on a global basis.

Rajesh Rege said, “I am delighted to be with Cisco at the stage when the Data Center market in India is in the midst of a transformation. This is an opportune time to be at the core of our customers’ technology infrastructure. I am looking forward to aggressive growth for the India business, through innovative methods and world-class service and support to customers.”

Rajesh holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree with specialization in Electronics and Communications from National Institute of Technology, Surathkal.

He has lead roles like country business management, national sales management, industry business development and channels strategy and management in highly regarded companies.
