Cisco appoints Jangoo Dalal to lead India, SAARC operations

NEW DELHI: Cisco has appointed Jangoo Dalal as president of its India and SAARC region (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation).

He will report directly to Owen Chan, Cisco’s president, Asia Pacific Operations. Dalal has been with Cisco for more than nine years and has headed the company’s Enterprise and Commercial operations in India for the last two years.

Before this, he was based in Singapore and was responsible for developing Cisco’s Channel Operations & Strategy function, across the Asia Pacific region.

“We are very pleased that Jangoo will be taking on the role of President for India and SAARC Operations,” said Chan, “As a long-time Cisco veteran, he brings an impressive and broad range of skills to this important leadership position. As we prepare for the next stage of growth in our business in India, I am confident that Jangoo is the right leader to move the company forward in this dynamic market.”

Dalal is an industry veteran with more than 18 years experience in the technology industry. Before joining Cisco in 1997, he was marketing manager at Wipro-British Telecom. He joined the company as part of a start up team for the joint venture in India and was responsible for conceiving, launching and implementing the value added network Services portfolio as a stand-alone profit-centre.

Dalal graduated from St. Xavier’s in Mumbai and holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Bombay University. He started his career with IDM and went on to join Wipro Infotech.
