BANGALORE: The Deccan Queen and the erstwhile pensioners’ paradise, Pune is
witnessing an industrial revolution of sorts with 60 new companies popping up in
the last six months, creating 10,000 new jobs, according to Maharatta Chamber of
Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA).
CIOL is organizing its fourth edition of SMB Forum events in the 7th largest
industrial metro of India, with the earlier editions being held in the southern
cities of Bangalore, Coimbatore and Hyderabad.
To be held tomorrow (6th April 2004) in the evening at the Le Meridian, the
CIOL SMB Forum is aptly titled, "Paisa Vasool from IT", to derive
maximum benefit from IT implementations.
IT has become the integral part of all business operations across industries.
Hence, the objective of the CIOL SMB Networking events is to highlight the
achievements of growing businesses, in the way Information Technology has been
used in Small and Medium Businesses to increase business efficiency and reduce
operational costs.
Every CIOL SMB Forum has been a platform for the participants to air their
problems and openly discuss and debate their issues. Chairing the discussion
panel in Pune would be Kamal Kararia VP-IT, Indian Seamless Metal Tubes Ltd,
Baljit Singh, IT-Head Emcure Infotech Ltd and Sanjeev Kumar, CIO, Kinetic
Engineering, Mohandas CIO, Finolex Cables and Sunil Kulkarni Head-IT, Piaggio.
The forum also enables the seasoned business heads to share their experience of
