CHENNAI, August 25: The careers section of
Cyber India Online (www.www.ciol.com), the Internet division of Cyber Media
India Limited, has been rated as India's premier career website by
Infoseek--a popular search engine. The objective behind the review was to
determine the website which makes the `User's time on the web more
worthwhile'. The review also sought to identify the best website based on
`Exceptionally interesting and definitive topics'. The other sites
reviewed were 3P Executive Search, Career India, Career1000, Naukri,
Tarvindiajobs and Times of India. "I feel extremely proud of the team
having achieved this. It is a kind of recognition we get for the hard work
put in for the past one year," said Cyber India Online President
Abraham Mathew.
The website has other useful features like products,
Internet, newsroom, ask the genie--where one can ask questions about their
PC problems, technology, beyond the news, IT stock reports, poll of the
week--on recent and interesting topics like virus, etc, telecom today, DQ
top 20 and leisure. `Cyber Times' is a free newsletter the visitor can
subscribe to. It keeps the subscriber updated with information on IT news
and career.
"The site is basically for any person interested in
the IT field. The careers section caters to those looking for IT oriented
jobs and suggestions," he said. The career section of the site is
updated on a daily basis on useful and interesting topics on job
satisfaction, change of job, office environment, quality certification
etc. "Five to six articles will be incorporated in the section on a
weekly. The IT job database is also updated everyday," Mr Mathew
added. The Website is going for a major redesign this September. "The
site would have a dynamic facelift including new features and a lot more
from the September 15. It would be more exciting and easily
navigable," he said. The site, launched in August 1996, had earlier
won awards like Best of Asia Pacific Website, Chip Web Award 1999 and the
Best Indian Webzine site from bestindiansites.com.
