CIOL invites nominations for EC Awards

BANGALORE, INDIA: CyberMedia India Online Limited (CIOL), India’s leading IT portal, and Dataquest, the premier IT magazine, have called for nominations for the 4th Enterprise Connect Awards, which is held annually to recognize and reward excellence among Indian CIOs for IT implementation. Nominations close on 20th July 2007.

CIOL said in a statement that the Enterprise Connect Awards is built around a framework that recognizes a CIO's leadership qualities, business-technology understanding, people orientation and performance through pioneering and innovating efforts.

Enterprise Connect Awards recognize and reward excellence of CIOs in enabling their organisations become more efficient and competitive, and has become the standard and a synonym for excellence and merit among Indian CIOs.

The Enterprise Connect Awards has a broad turnover classification such as less than Rs 1000 crore and more than Rs.1000 crore. Each one of these categories will have three awards, which will be named as Champion CIO, Gold CIO & Silver CIO.

Besides this, another set of individual awards is given under the following categories: Pioneer, Innovator, Advocate, Extended Manager and Process.

Final winners are judged based on the questionnaires sent by the nominated CIOs. Enterprise Connect Awards Jury consists of the following personalities: Jury Chairman - Vivek Kulkarni - CEO, Brickworks (former IT secretary, Govt. of Karnataka). The Jury Members are Probir Mitra, CIO, Tata Motors Limited; Subhash Patil, CIO, Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation; Shyam Malhotra, Executive Director, CyberMedia; Prasanto Kumar Roy, President & Chief Editor, CyberMedia Publications and Prof. Rahul de, IIM-Bangalore.

In the last three years, a total of 400 large enterprises have participated and sent in their nominations.

Some of the winners include Tata Motors Limited, Reliance Industries, CESC Limited, ICICI Bank Limited, North Delhi Power Limited, Reliance Infocomm Limited, Bharti Tele Ventures Ltd, TVS Motor Company, State Bank of India, Gati Limited, Fortis Healthcare, Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation; and Goodlass Nerolac Paints Limited.
