BANGALORE, INDIA: CIO Klub's Bangalore chapter celebrated its third anniversary on 27th September 2014.

CIO Association, popularly known as CIO Klub is the largest association of Chief Information Officers in India. Starting with less than 30 members, CIO Klub has now grown upto 950 members across India over the last six years with six working chapters in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai and Coimbatore.

The fun-filled evening saw the congregation of the CIOs from the Bangalore chapter along with the president Shirish Gariba, who came from Mumbai to attend the same.

The tone of the evening was set by Dilip Donde, the ex commander at Indian Navy, who mesmerized the audience with the first hand account of his 'Sagar Parikrama' journey of 267 days on a sail boat. Donde happens to be the fist Indian to set a record for the first-ever solo circumnavigation of the globe on a sail boat covering a distance of approx 24,000 nautical miles from west to east through the Southern hemisphere.

CIO Klub has also signed a partnering agreement with CEBIT India on the occasion.

Mehul Shah, managing director, Hannover Fairs India Pvt Ltd.(the organizer of CEBIT India) said: "The CIO Klub has been playing a very important role in the development of the IT industry and the evolution of IT leaders with enterprises in India. CeBIT and CIO Klub will hold the similar kind of sessions in Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune and Coimbatore also to let the CIOs know about the business development opportunities in the upcoming CeBIT India expo and allow them to pre-register for the expo,'' said Shirish Gariba.

The event turned to be an enlightening session with interesting presentations from the vendors as well. There were presentation and solution showcase covering different aspects of enterprise IT concerns by the datacenter solution provider, NxtGen, enterprise security solution provider, Winmagic and talent and performance management solution provider, Cornerstone.

The IT industry can be benefited from this kind of interactive platform which will bring the the vendors, media and the CIOs together, said the group editor PCQuest and CIOL, Anil Chopra who was also present there on the occasion. This will encourage them to discuss the issues, share the knowledge and experiences, best practices and help them drive the innovation further, said he.

Credits were also given to the distinguished members and the mentor, N. Nataraj for their contribution.

Ajay Bakshi, secretary of the Bangalore chapter did spread some extra cheer by conducting lucky draws between the sessions and giving away prizes to the winners – which also kept the attendees glued to their seats through the evening.
