BANGALORE, INDIA: To provide faster and more secure browsing experience, Chrome browser has come up with 64-bit support for Windows.

A Chromium blog post from software engineer, Will Harris said, "The majority of our users on Windows 7 or higher now have systems capable of running 64-bit applications, and this version of Chrome can take full advantage of these newer capabilities."

The security and stability of 64-bit Chrome is higher than 32-bit Chrome versions and the speed is also improved for graphics and multimedia content.

From the existing versions, Windows 7 and 8 users can switch to the new 64-bit Dev and Canary channels easily with all the presets and stored bookmarks.

The Canaray release is mainly aimed towards the developers and those early adopters, who want to test the bleeding edge features.

The dev channel is meant for developers to test new features before they arrive in the Beta and stable channels.

Google, however, has not given any timeline for the final release.
