Chinese Mining company picks GE's system

US: GE Intelligent Platforms announced that its breakthrough process control solution, Proficy Process Systems, was chosen by China Baogang Group’s subsidiary Barun Mining Co. Ltd. for use in the company’s ironmining business in China. The company chose GE’s solution to facilitate product quality improvement, optimize production and reduce cost.

China Baogang is one of the largest equipment manufacturers in China, involved in the construction of metallurgical, infrastructural facilities, and other industrial projects. The company also provides geo-technical engineering construction, industrial and civil construction, rock and earthwork excavation, equipment installation, and steel structure fabrication and installation services, as shared in a press note.

“We wanted a control system to improve efficiency and product quality,” said Dongziqing, vice president of Barun Mining Corp. “The Proficy Process System High Availability PACSystems RX3i controller, I/O and forward-thinking architecture of 100 MBPS I/O Rack Connectivity will enable us to increase our productivity.”

Barun Mining Co. Ltd. Is a subsidiary of the Baotou Steel Group. They provide an additional source of material from China’s Bayan Obo area for the Baogang group to protect against global supply chain disturbances.
