Even when ZTE and Huawei showcased a strong performance in overseas market and Taiwanese makers obtained CDMA orders from Nokia, shipment volume of PAS (Personal Access System) products continued to fall, reaching only 1.3 million units in the second quarter. The financial setback in USA and European markets could be cited as the cause of this low performance.

Huawei, TCL, ZTE, and Konka, showcased a stable performance as they addressed markets such as India, the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia, where mobile subscribers are on the rise.

Owing to higher rate of success in overseas market, mobile handset makers such as Lenovo and Tianyu are focusing more on overseas market and have increased their investments in export businesses, inorder to ease domestic market competition.
