CHENNAI: The Information Technology Corridor Project on the outskirts of Chennai city would be completed by May 2007.
Talking to CyberMedia News on the sidelines of the Malaysia India Business Opportunities Seminar, in Chennai, S Ramasundaram, chairperson and managing director, said that the first phase of the corridor project involving 3.1km would be completed by this month-end, and the second and final phase involving 20km would be completed by May 2007.
“In fact, once the six-lane project is completed, it would be bigger than Silicon Valley, in terms of more IT professionals per kilometer,” he added.
Incidentally, the Madras High Court last month upheld the land acquisition by Tamil Nadu State Highways Department for the Information Technology corridor project.
Justice A Kulasegaran, who heard the case, dismissed the petition filed by six people, challenging the acquisition of their land by the State Highway department.
