BANGALORE, INDIA: Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. today announced that it has completed testing by NSS Labs, excelling in the industry’s most comprehensive third-party intrusion prevention (IPS) group testing to date–achieving 97.3 percent security effectiveness and earning NSS Labs’ Recommended rating.

A Check Point release said that the company has also achieved a rated throughput of 2.4 Gbps in real-world performance testing. With unprecedented results for an integrated IPS solution, NSS has placed Check Point as a leader in the IPS Security Value Map, adding the IPS Software Blade to the extensive portfolio of award-winning Check Point security solutions.

“As cybercriminals have become more aggressive over the past few years and attacks are increasing in volume and sophistication, this has been the most rigorous IPS test bed yet,” said Rick Moy, president at NSS Labs. “Throughout the duration of our testing, Check Point’s IPS Software Blade showcased excellent protection and ease of use. For multi-gigabit environments, the Check Point Power-1 11065 with the IPS Software Blade is a cost-effective way to protect against the next generation of Internet threats.”
