Targeting the BPO, BFSI, telecom industries that have employees on the move, carrying office PC, Abra claims to provide secure virtual workspace  that changes the way mobile users work.

Abra instantly turns any PC into your own corporate desktop, allowing users to access files and applications anywhere, anytime — without the weight of bulky laptops or work files.

Its plug-and-play USB form factor allows users to launch a virtual workspace by segregating the virtual workspace from the host PC. And, built-in encryption protects data while working or traveling.

“Abra combines virtualization, secure business continuity and data security in one single device, empowering the mobile workers with network access,” said Bhaskar Bakthavatsalu, regional director - India and SAARC, Check Point.

According to Checkpoint, plugging in Abra stick will load itself automatically on any PC with no booting and net connection. It allows users to access both Internet and Intranet, check company-related mails and applications either online or offline through virtual private network (VPN) connectivity.

The entire storage is encrypted. Since the device is password protected, even if it is lost no one else can get the data. In partnership with Sandisk, Check Point Abra is available as 4GB and 8GB capacity priced at $140 and $210 respectively.
