According to Amnon Bar-Lev, president, Check Point, in the past, IT environments were simple. They evolved as well. Now, there is a complicated environment for security. How do you manage complex environments? Enterprises are looking for advice. Enterprises need security that is modular, agile and secure.

Check Point has introduced software-defined protection - consisting of the management layer, control and enforcement layer, respectively.

Perimeter is only good when boundary is marked. Now, how do you protect borderless environments? You need to look at each environment and protect them separately. Segmentation is the new perimeter.

For control layer - access control and data control, we need a very simple policy to block the bad guys. Check Point is adding threat protection. It has threat intelligence.

Management layer - is very modular, automated -- which supports business process changes, and visibility - Check Point collect information from every enforcement point.

Check Point claims it has been able to attack Heartbleed. As for the Indian enterprises, they are trying to manage their networks properly. Financial sector is more advanced than say, manufacturing. There are more efforts going on to make it more better.
