Cellphone mkt growth to slow in 2012: Gartner

NEW YORK, USA: Cellphone market growth will slow this year, research firm Gartner forecast on Wednesday in a statement, with weakening economies hurting the demand.

Gartner said it saw growth in the overall cellphone sales volume slowing to 7 per cent from 11 per cent growth seen last year, while smartphone market growth would slow to 39 per cent from 58 per cent.
