Celebrate #IncredibleIndia with Google+ photos

NEW DELHI, INDIA: In the zeal to celebrate and showcase India's visual beauty to the world, Google+ and the Ministry of Tourism (India) have come together to host a photography competition.

The Ministry of Tourism (India) invites professionals, prosumers and amateur photographers from around the world to share their view of India with a six-week long global photography competition on Google+.

The best pictures shared from around the world on Google+, with the hashtag #IncredibleIndia, will be nominated and shared on a special landing page on google.com.

Sandeep Menon, director of Marketing, Google India, said: "We're very excited about this partnership with the Ministry of Tourism that invites people from across the world to share pictures that reflects the incredible kaleidoscope that is India. Google + is the platform that will bring together and unite India lovers globally, allowing them share, showcase and view incredible photographic moments in this incredible contest that celebrates India."

Further, the Ministry of Tourism will select three international photographers and will invite them for a visit to India. These guests will get a week's holiday (with travel & lodging expenses covered) to capture the destination of their choice for Incredible India. Similar trips for select Indian photographers will also be organized each week.

Parvez Dewan, secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, said: "We are delighted to partner with Google+ in this initiative to celebrate the beauty of India and its people through photographs. Incredible India is known for showcasing the best that India has to offer. Maintaining the endeavour, we invite everyone from around the world to share their view of India through this six-week-long global photography competition on Google+.

"Three amongst you, along with one companion, will be chosen to become our honoured guests and get a trip to experience the destination of their choice in India. Incredible India will arrange economy-class return air tickets, a six-day, five-night stay at a government-owned or equivalent A-class (5-star, if available) hotel on American plan (twin-sharing basis) basis, taxi for 6 days, tour guide and entry to monuments."
