NEW DELHI: CeBIT, the world's largest trade fair for

digital IT and telecommunications solutions for the home and work environments,

has announced a strategic partnership with Infocomm, India's largest ICT

CeBIT will be an exclusive partner of Infocomm 2006.

Launched in 2002, the annual Infocomm is organised in Kolkata by Business World,
and Nasscom, the premier association for software and service companies. It has

grown to become the largest congregation of ICT specialists, policy-makers and

industry leaders in India. In 2005, the three-day conference and 150,000 sq. ft.

exhibition brought together over 100 speakers, 1600 delegates, 55 sponsors, 350

participants companies and over 1,00,000 visitors.

Addressing the media at a press conference here, Kiran Karnik, president,
Nasscom said, “Today, Infocom has become one of the largest ICT expositions in

India, having grown both in stature and recognition over the past years. The

association with CeBIT is a landmark development and indicator of the global

crossover for Infocom. With the IT industry clocking revenues of US $ 29.6

billion in FY 06, the Indian story is very promising, and we are certain of the

global footprint this event will garner going forward.”

Dr. Eberhard Roloff of CeBIT added: “Organising the European joint pavilion at
Infocom 2006 is Deutsche AG's first attempt to give CeBIT exhibitors from EU

exactly the right kind of access to the Indian ICT market.”
