CCTV cameras to be installed in 179 girls' schools in Delhi

NEW DELHI, INDIA: The South Delhi Municipal Corporation has decided to install CCTV cameras in 179 girls' school in the capital.

The corporation will also appoint female security guards in these schools. "The total cost of installation of cameras would be about Rs.1 crore," said Education Committee chairman Satish Upadhyay.

"We have created a new head in this financial year for provision of installation of CCTV camera," said an officer of South Delhi Municipal Corporation.

Under the head, "Moral Education in Primary Schools" that has been recently created by the civic body, students will be imparted with moral values. This initiative has been estimated to cost around Rs. 25 lakh.
