The objective of the CBSE merit scholarship scheme is to provide scholarships to the meritorious Single Girl Students, who are the only child of their parents. Thus, if they have secured 60% or more marks in CBSE Class 10; are studying Class 11 and 12 in School (affiliated with CBSE) whose tuition fee is not more than Rs. 1,500 pm during the academic year; they shall be considered for the CBSE Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child 2020. They will receive Rs 500 upon winning the scholarship for Class 11 and 12. Further, CBSE states that in the next two years, the total enhancement in tuition fees in such schools shall not be more than 10% of the tuition fee charged.

Further, you should have received the CBSE Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship last year. And you should be a student of CBSE in class 11 in the previous year and have scored 50% or more marks in Class 11 and promoted to class 12. The last date for submission of online applications is 10 December 2020. You need to submit a hard copy of application form (renewal only) on or before 28th December 2020.

Visit the official site of CBSE. Scroll down and click on Scholarship link available on the home page. Then, it will open a new page where candidates will have to click on the CBSE Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child 2020 link. From there, download the application form, fill and you have to send a hard copy.

You need to write the subject on the form in the exact words, on an envelope “APPLICATION FOR CBSE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP FOR SGC X F – 2 (RENEWAL)”; send it to the “ASSISTANT SECRETARY (SCHOLARSHIP), CBSE, SHIKSHA KENDRA, 2 COMMUNITY CENTRE, PREET VIHAR, DELHI 110 092”

CBSE Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child 2020: Selection Process

The student should be a girl and should have passed Class X Examination from the CBSE and secured 60% or more marks. Original Affidavit duly attested by the First Class Judicial Magistrate/ SDM/ Executive Magistrate/Notary as per prescribed format available on the Board’s website. The tuition fee should not be more than Rs. 1,500 per month in Class X and 10% enhancement for Class XI & XII. Candidates can check for more related details through the official site of CBSE.
