This is for the fourth time that Raja is being questioned by CBI. He was questioned on Monday and earlier he was grilled on December 24 and 25, 2010 too.

According to Zee News, the investigating agency is awaiting government nod to take him into custody.

Earlier, on Monday, former Supreme Court judge Shivraj V. Patil had submitted his report on the procedures followed in awarding airwaves for second generation (2G) telecom services between 2001 and 2009, and identified some errant officials.

In the report, the justice said he had identified some officials on whose part there have been some deficiencies and lapses.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court had on Tuesday said whatever steps the central government takes to regularise 2G spectrum licences of firms which failed to fulfil their rollout obligations would be subject to the final outcome of the petition that has challenged the allocation in 2008 at 2001 prices.
