Capgemini expands India operations

MUMBAI: Capgemini, provider of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, has announced the launch of its third facility in Mumbai. Located in Vikhroli, where the first two sites are also situated, this 60,000 sq. ft premise would provide technology and outsourcing services to clients globally.






According to the press release, Capgemini India has registering more than 600 percent growth from 400 people in early 2003 to around 2,500 today. Capgemini India's policy is to build additional capacity on demand and this new facility is a step further in expansion after the opening of Bangalore center in last October. With this new step, the company's India offshore capacity will cross 3,000 seats.





The release further states that the success of Capgemini operations in Mumbai and Bangalore and increased customer demand has led to further expansion in Mumbai. Capgemini Mumbai III, as it is called, has a capacity of 740 seats and conforms to Capgemini international standards, methods and approaches to foster an efficient and contemporary work environment.





Capgemini India CEO Baru Rao said, "Continued high level of customer satisfaction in Mumbai and Bangalore has made growth an effortless progression for us today. This complete dedication to quality and delivery has helped us launch our third facility in Mumbai and gain rapid momentum in the Indian market."





Speaking on the occasion, Capgemini CFO Nicolas Dufourcq who is in India to launch the facility said, "India is core to Capgemini Group strategy. We have seen overwhelming growth from this region in the recent year and foresee continued growth and expansion in the coming quarters, delivered through our India operations."
