Capella Univ sharpens focus on security

MINNEAPOLIS, US: Capella University, an accredited online university that provides high quality online degree programs for working adults, was selected by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) to design an education cohort for its employees. The cohort will be created for SAIC employees who enroll into the online university’s master’s degree program focusing on Information Assurance and Security.

As per a press release, SAIC is a Fortune 500 scientific, engineering, and technology applications company delivering services and solutions in national security, energy and the environment, critical infrastructure, and health. The company’s approximately 45,000 employees serve customers in the U.S. Department of Defense, the intelligence community, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, other U.S. Government civil agencies and selected commercial markets.

Cybersecurity is a high growth area for SAIC as it plays a critical role across all of the markets we serve,” said Matthew McDonald, vice president, Cyber Security and Cyber Project Management Office at SAIC. “Closely aligning our employees’ professional skills and goals with Capella University’s information assurance and security program will help enhance the cybersecurity solutions we offer to customers.”
