Small, lunch-box type printers are a quick way to get some neat prints while you are away from office-the CP740 is the latest printer in the same category from Canon. It has a 2-inch LCD on top which previews the image before printing. It comes in handy when you want to print directly from a flash memory card (the card reader is built in) or from a compatible digital camera using PictBridge. Using an optional Bluetooth dongle, you can wirelessly print from a Bluetooth-equipped PC as well. Other features include built-in red eye reduction, border and borderless printing and movie sequence prints from Canon cameras.

Being a dye sublimation printer, each sheet goes through the printer four times as each color layer is printed. It does take longer than a standard inkjet printer but the results are stunning; comparable to prints from a good photo lab. We saw saturated colors, fine lines of detail and a good likeness of the original. Only issue is slight cropping of the image. Overall, good performance and value.
