BANGALORE, INDIA: Cadence Design Systems has selected Wipro-NewLogic’s IEEE 802.11 a/b/g MAC and Modem for its SoC Functional Verification Kit.

By integrating Wipro-NewLogic technology into the wireless segment representative design kit, Cadence provides designers the verification capabilities they need to solve the challenges associated with developing and verifying an 802.11 WLAN-enabled SoC, Wipro said in a statement.

“Our customers face the challenge of verifying increasingly complex SoCs that target wireless applications like Voice over Wireless LAN and mobile multimedia clients,” said Mana Coste, marketing director at Wipro-NewLogic.

“Including our silicon-proven 802.11 Wireless LAN IP in Cadence’s SoC Functional Verification Kit allows verification engineers to see how the kit’s Incisive Plan-to-Closure Methodology and flows can be applied to a real wireless design,” he added.

The Cadence SoC Functional Verification Kit provides end-to-end methodology covering block-level designer verification to chip- and system-level advanced verification, automating Incisive Plan-to-Closure Methodology comprehension and implementation.

The Wipro-NewLogic IP solution features low-power operation and support for the latest Wi-Fi specifications like WPA2 and WMM.
