The foundation will look to partner and build relationships with institutions that support, research, develop or implement the appropriate, specialist communication requirements, said a press release.

The company is also aiming to offer communication solutions and services to organisations supporting people with special needs, as well as working with experts to understand how people’s lives can be enhanced and is also enabling colleagues to build meaningful partnerships with relevant organisations.

“This is a very special day for us and I’m proud to see the introduction of the Cable&Wireless Worldwide Foundation. Starting the Foundation is a formal way to harness the fantastic public spirit across our business. It’s a cohesive and global approach that provides the platform to focus our efforts, expertise and funding to make a real difference to people’s lives,” said John Pluthero, Cable&Wireless Worldwide chairman and trustee of the foundation.
