Cable&Wireless sets-up new innovation hub

BANGALORE, INDIA: Communication service provider Cable&Wireless Worldwide announced that it will set-up an innovation centre in the city, which will cater to its offshore product development for global markets outside the UK, including Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa and North America.

The centre, called Global Markets Solutions Centre (GMSC), will bring in the company’s existing product suite, including a range of IP services, which have not been available outside of the UK and work towards customising its IPVPN and Ethernet solutions.

Shali Thilakan, MD, Cable&Wireless Worldwide, said that with the advent of cloud computing, Indian service providers are looking at developing data centres in the coming years. Thus, we see a growing demand for Ethernet services round the corner.

The centre will be primarily looking at developing new, standardised and repeatable solutions, developed in collaboration with C&W Worldwide’s clients and business partners across the globe.
