MUMBAI: "India is at the forefront of this increase in demand, especially from the SPO-ITeS space, and infrastructure and information management solutions are powering us in this region," Rajiv Singh, CA’s managing director for India and SAARC, said. Other strong growth segments were BFSI (banking, financial services and insurance), e-governance and telecom, he added.

"Since 9.11, companies globally have been focusing heavily on business continuity," Singh said at a media briefing at NASSCOM 2003 in Mumbai, adding that this trend had been strong in the APAC region as well. Computer Associates was also making strong inroads in areas like storage and security, he said. Other than these segments, CA’s core competence, solutions in the domain of systems management, network management, storage management and security management were the other growth drivers.

"We are helping enterprises in the APAC region ensuring 24x7 availability of infrastructure and information, and 99.99% performance levels," Singh said, forecasting a growth rate of 100% year on year for the ITES space. Citing a recent survey by IDC, he said the systems management software market would grow by 23%, network management software market by 21%, storage management software market by 34% and that for security management software by 83% in fiscal 2003-04.
