CA aims to boost identity management

BANGALORE: CA, Inc., an IT management software provider, today announced that it has acquired IDFocus LLC and its identity management technology, ACE.

Acquisition focuses to help customers increase business efficiency, meet compliance demands and ease identity lifecycle management, said a press release.

"Identity management is essential to comprehensive IT security, and the integration of CA Identity Manager and ACE technology enables CA to deliver a robust and powerful identity management solution," said Dave Hansen, corporate senior vice president and general manager, CA Security Management.

He added that this acquisition would strengthen CA's ability to continually enhance critical elements of its identity and access management suite, that would helps the customers effectively manage employees' and partners' identity lifecycles and meet new compliance demands.

The IDFocus software includes an improved ability to help customers meet compliance demands by proactively preventing segregation of duties (SoD) violations. As CA Identity Manager provisions users, it runs a check on the SoD policies set up in the IDFocus software, the release added.

It stated that if a policy violation were identified, the identity manager would prevent the provisioning event from taking place, proactively manage the compliance needs and would prevent violations before they happen.
