C1 grabs e-tendering contract in Oman

BANGALORE, INDIA: Indian software expertise took a new step today with C1 India, provider of e-procurement & e-sourcing solutions, signing a contract with the Sultanate of Oman to roll out its Tender Management Software (TMS) in Oman to automate the tendering process of the Government.

The project aims to automate all manual processes required during the tendering stages involved and train tender Board staff and IT professionals to ensure effective use, management and efficient monitoring of the E-Tendering System.

The project was awarded to consortium represented by C1 India and Industrial Management Technology & Contracting (IMTAC) LLC. Imtac has successful implemented in various national projects like RTGS and ACH solutions for Central Bank of Oman and citizen centric solution for Muscat Municipality and various other government organizations.

The Contract worth 2,129,123/= OMR was signed by H.E. Dr. Khamis Bin Mubarak Al Alawi, the Chairman of Tender Board (representing the Government) at the Tender Board premises in Al Khuwair.

According to the Press Release by the Sultanate of Oman, the newly planned E-tendering system will serve the needs for all government entities and assist in the process of planning for future projects and assist the decision makers to receive all updated information about the government projects.   

The E-tendering system will help to track if  Tender Board Laws and Regulations are being followed, or even point to the cases of exemptions, since the selected system can be customized to include any number of entities.

“This is the first project in the Middle East region wherein e-tendering is being adopted at the National level by all Government departments. The Government followed a very rigorous evaluation process for selecting the product. All the best-known players in the world who offer similar products were evaluated and our solution was chosen amongst all of them,” Agarwal added.
