PUNE: Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) has signed a
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sofosphere, a Security division of Bharat
Connect Ltd., to provide IT training in Columbia.
C-DAC entered in the MoU during C-DAC executive director, R K Arora's recent
visit to Columbia as part of the Indian delegation led by Pramod Mahajan,
minister of communications and information technology, government of India.
As per the MOU, C-DAC will initially offer training in Network Management and
Security in Columbia through Soposphere. The Authorized Training Centers (ATC's)
of C-DAC set -up by Soposphere will adhere to the standards and framework
specified by C-DAC and will impart quality IT training to the government as well
as the corporate sectors of Columbia. On further requirement analysis,
specialized training in advanced computing, digital multimedia, embedded systems
design and VLSI design will also be provided. C-DAC and Soposphere are also
exploring other areas of collaboration to address the information technology
solutions requirements in Columbia.
According to Arora, "In addition to its expertise in IT training and
education the MOU provides C-DAC the gateway to offer its solutions and services
in various other IT domains to Latin America'. "C-DAC is well resourced to
address the need of the Latin American IT industry and C-DAC's IT proficiency is
steadily gaining global recognition", he added.
C-DAC in the recent past has initiated IT training programs in Mauritius,
USA, UAE and New Zealand.
