BANGALORE,INDIA: Bytemobile, Inc., a provider in mobile Internet solutions for network operators, today announced the opening of a new center for both research and development and customer support services in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The company established the facility under an agreement with Invest Northern Ireland (NI) that would attract new investment to the country, said a press release. Bytemobile currently maintains R&D centers in Patras, Greece; Mountain View, California and Champaign, Illinois, it added.

Like the Champaign center, the Belfast facility would specialize in the research, prototyping and demonstration of new wireless network infrastructure technology for mobile Internet applications.

It also maintains regional customer support operations in Patras, Mountain View, Wokingham, U.K. and Beijing. Warren Simpson, vice president of Worldwide Customer Support, would direct the Belfast center, it said.

"Bytemobile's product development and customer support facilities worldwide are strategically located to ensure that we leverage the best technical resources while staying close to customers," said Simpson.

He added that the Northern Ireland offers a rich talent pool ranging from experienced engineers to recent university graduates. It is also virtually next door to our major accounts throughout the U.K. and Europe.

Chris Koopmans, vice president, Product Development, Bytemobile, said,“ This expansion to Northern Ireland enhances and complements our global engineering organization.” “Having access to the world's leading mobile data R&D talent, wherever it happens to be, will keep us at the forefront of technological leadership and product innovation," he added.
