BV Jagadeesh to architect Kochi communication hub

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: B V Jagadeesh, President & CEO of Netscaler and a leading Indian IT entrepreneur in US, has agreed to assist the Kerala Government to develop Kochi in order to make it a global communication hub, according to an official release. The delegation led by P K Kunhalikutty, Minister for IT, Aruna Sundarrajan, IT Secretary and NR Mahalingam, COO, Kerala IT Mission is currently conducting road shows in the US for attracting new investment.

Jagadeesh is a renowned figure in IT Industry and has been wooed by many state governments for building their information architectures. He is a leading authority on Internet infrastructure and has pioneered several start-ups very successfully. He had set up the well-known Exodus Data Center, which paved the way for shared services, managed services and co-hosting, which led to the entry of Data Centers into India.

Very few are aware that Kochi handles two thirds of India's data traffic today. With the induction of the SAFE submarine cable, the city has gained more importance and the Government of Kerala has plans to expand this further with many value added services, which will serve the entire nation and further enhance the position of the country in IT/ITES and BPO segments. Kerala Government has been aggressively promoting Kochi as a global hub for ITES, BPO and Disaster Recovery.

Kunhalikutty said, "Jagadeesh's technical advice will further enhance the Government in its plans to position Kerala as a global leader in BPO/ITES space. I thank Jagadeesh for taking time to meet our delegation despite his hectic schedule. I take this opportunity to invite him to visit Kerala at his earliest convenience."
