Business Octane to invest $ 50 mn globally

MUMBAI, INDIA: Gurgaon-based Business Octane, the enterprise unified collaboration and learning solution provider, revealed major business expansion plans on Tuesday by launching its Immersive TeleAllpresence solutions portfolio and will set up TeleAllpresence centers in India and abroad.

According to Sanjay Bansal, Business Octane's chairman and managing director, said, the estimated telepresence market globally is worth around $ 300 billion and India's potential market in future is estimated to be $5 billion.

However, currently India's share of the global market of telepresence is just one and half per cent,” Bansal said. The company's new TeleAllpresence solutions are largely focused on enterprises and government sector.

We would be looking at two domains specifically — enterprise and governments. Enterprise vertical includes segments such as IT & ITeS, FMGC, Oil & Gas and Engineering, while government domain includes state and central governments, R&D organizations and any organizations which has centers or offices across multiple locations,” Bansal added.

In terms of business growth and expectation, Bansal informed, “We are expecting 100 per cent jump in the current fiscal and India has a huge potential in telepresence market. We are looking at 50-plus customers this year.” At present, the company has over 20 customers which are using telepresence suites.

With the new solutions, Bansal revealed plans to ramp up the company's presence globally with $50 million investment over next three years.

We will invest $50 million over next 3 years globally to setting up TeleAllpresence experience centers. We will invest $2 million to build the experience centers in Pune and Kolkota this year,” he added.

At present the company has five experience centers in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai.

Business Octane’s Immersive TeleAllpresence solutions portfolio is available in two variants Group TeleAllpresence and Dynamic TeleAllpresence suites. These solutions enables real-time, on-demand, high quality true-to-life meeting experience from 18 to 600 participants across 3 to 40 locations simultaneously.

The Immersive TeleAllpresence solutions, according to the company, will bring a paradigm shift in the way business interaction happens between the top management and leadership teams across multiple locations and will make enterprises more nimble and agile.

For these solutions, the company has filed 3 technology patents which are pending. However, it claimed, that the TeleAllpresence offers 50 to 100 times more effective experience than video teleconferences with 10 to 20 times more effective over legacy Telepresence experience.

According to Bansal, these solutions can work on low bandwidths as well as over the Internet and also can get easily integrated with any other video conferencing solution. This apart, the solutions facilitate in sharing computer and white board with good voice quality and image.

The pricing of entry-level suites starts at Rs. 40 lakh and goes up to Rs 3 crore with implementation time of 3-4 months. Each suite comes with a bundle license for its use across 25 multiple locations and beyond, which the customer will have to pay extra.

The running cost varies from Rs 2 lakh up to Rs 8 lakh annually depending on bandwidths usage, speed and number of locations.
