MUMBAI: Business intelligence provider, Business Objects (BO) has roped in TCS as its certified consulting partner (CCP). This partnership, according to the company, is extremely significant as "TCS has a strong reach in the domestic market and follows a dedicated business intelligence practice." Until recently, BO had Sonata Software and Tata Infotech as its distribution partners and few other companies as independent software vendors (ISVs).

"With this alliance, BO would not only provide the product, but also extensive training and support to TCS to engage with clients for business intelligence requirements," said BO APAC business development director (South Asia) Sanjay Deshmukh. He also informed that TCS has set up a center of excellence (COE) to offer services like consulting, tool evaluation and selection for BO. "COE would also act as a technical help desk for project teams working on BO solutions," added Deshmukh.

Talking about the company's growth plans, he further informed that with recent acquisition of Crystal Reports, BO would witness a very high growth in the coming fiscal. "So far we have been recording growths of about 35 percent and we expect this figure to go much higher in 2004," Deshmukh stated.
