These portals enable users to search, review and recommend local eateries, nightclubs and related businesses in specific cities.

After five months of alpha testing and constant feedback, the improved portal is now open to the general public. Thus far, coverage spans categories ranging from restaurants to nightlife, paan shops to juice centres, pubs to cafes.

The site will soon expand to include new categories such as local events and movies.

"Even with the growing density of local businesses and rising purchasing power amongst consumers, there is no reliable online resource that acts as a medium to connect the two. We aim to provide people with lifestyle related information and also be the platform to voice their experience," says co-founder Deap Ubhi.

"Our plan is to span 12 cities in India within a 6 month timeframe. Now, with Mumbai and Bangalore sites up, we can focus on the next two cities. Research and data collection is currently underway for Kolkata and Delhi/NCR" mentions Anand Jain, co-founder and technology head.
