AUSTIN, USA : BLDW, developer of patented rooftop mounted wind turbines, and distributor of energy saving LED lighting, solar and generator solutions through Green City Planet, a wholly owned subsidiary, announced that they have completed the installation of their latest wind turbine design.
The new turbine is the result of over 2 years of collaboration between Building Turbines, Inc., The University of Texas at Austin, Texas State University, and the Austin Green Energy Group; incorporating five separate collegiate studies, numerous improvements, and design upgrades.
Based on the original BT wind turbine platform, the new turbine incorporates significant changes to the blade configuration, hubs and bearings designed to reduce friction and maintenance.
"The new design is modular in nature, so existing systems can be easily outfitted with the new components. It is designed to generate electricity efficiently at lower wind speeds, while still withstanding large gusts. It has also been cost engineered and the design lends itself readily to mass production.
Our IP expert believes that our new innovations will fall under the claims of our two issued patents; as well, another pending patent, which we believe through recent correspondence from US patent office, an award is eminent. R&D and continuous improvemnet is an on-going process; but, the ability to upgrade and expand existing systems will be maintained:" stated John Graham Sr., Building Turbines Inc., CEO.
