Buffalo brings Intel-powered TeraStation Pro family

LAS VEGAS, USA: Buffalo Technology, manufacturer of wired and wireless networking and network and direct attached storage solutions, announced the TeraStation Pro family of network storage solutions.

Consisting of TeraStation Pro Duo, Pro Quad, Pro Rackmount, Pro 6 and Pro 8, the TeraStation Pro family is equipped with Intel Atom D510 Dual-Core Processor.

"In 2005, with the launch of the first generation TeraStation and the subsequent creation of the high-end SMB network storage market, Buffalo set a bar that the others have been aiming to reach," said Ralph Spagnola, vice president, sales, Buffalo Technology. "Today, with the launch of the TeraStation Pro family, Buffalo has once again proven to be the market leader, offering the most complete SMB storage lineup."

The TeraStation Pro family, which can scale up to 24 TB, offers an array of features including Active Directory support, disk quota support, data replication with device failover, dual gigabit Ethernet ports, hot-swap hard drives and ten licenses of NovaBackup Business Essentials software.

The TeraStation Pro 8 features eight populated bays of storage shipping in RAID 6 with support for RAID 0/1/5/10 modes as well.  The TeraStation Pro 8 will be available in February at an estimated street price of $2,999.99 for the 8 TB (TS-8VH8.0TL/R6), $4,499.99 for the 16 TB (TS-8VH16TL/R6) and $6,499.99 for the 24 TB (TS-8VH24TL/R6).

The TeraStation Pro 6, a six bay network attached storage solution supports USB 3.0 accessories, ships in RAID 6 and will be available in February at an estimated street price of $2,499.99 for the 6 TB (TS-6VH6.0TL/R6) and $4,499.99 for the 12 TB (TS-6VH12TL/R6).

The TeraStation Pro Quad and Pro Rackmount feature four populated drive bays and support RAID 0/1/5/6/10 and USB 3.0 accessories. They are available in capacities up to 12 TB, as either a pedestal model or a slim, 1U rackmount chassis with included rack rails.

Available in February, the TeraStation Pro Quad will be offered at an estimated street price of $1,199.99 for the 4 TB (TS-QV4.0HL), $1,699.99 for the 8 TB (TS-QV8.0HL) and $2,599.99 for the 12 TB (TS-QV12.0HL). 

The TeraStation Pro Rackmount will be available at an estimated street price of $1,699.99 for the 4 TB (TS-RVH4.0TL/R6), $2,299.99 for the 8 TB (TS-RVH8.0TL/R6) and $2,999.99 for the 12 TB (TS-RVH12TL/R6). 

The TeraStation Pro Duo features two drive bays, USB 3.0 accessory support, RAID 0/1 support and capacities up to 4 TB, making it an ideal solution for small offices that require the performance and reliability of a larger office but without the capacity demand.

The TeraStation Pro Duo will be available in February at an estimated street price of $599.99 for the 2 TB (TS-WV2.0HL) and $799.99 for the 4 TB (TS-WV4.0HL).
