The new rate of national SMS for post paid mobile subscribers is now 40 paise per message of 160 characters instead of the earlier 60 paise.

For the pre-paid subscribers, the SMS rate of 60 paise per SMS remains unchanged.

According to a press note released, there is a separate package for the subscribers of the plan 525. In the said plan, 400 messages will be allowed in a month at a charge of Rs100 per month and 1000 messages will be allowed at a monthly charge of Rs200 per month. Beyond this limit, the subscriber will have to pay at the rate of 40 paise per message.

For international SMS, post-paid subscribers (CellOne customers) will have to pay Rs3 per message of 160 characters. For pre-paid subscribers the international SMS will cost Rs5 per message.

For its post-paid subscribers (CellOne customers), a new scheme for a limited period has been launched. Under the scheme, if a mobile (CellOne) is disconnected due to non payment of bill, it will be reconnected without payment of rental for the period from the date of disconnection to the date reconnection if the subscriber pays his outstanding dues. This scheme is open only up to May 15.
