Benefits of the computer would be publicized through live demos at various localities, said a press release.

Novatium has an 'Experience Zone Van' which will visit one key locality of Chennai everyday and give the people a chance to experience the Nova netPC for themselves, it added.

The road show is designed to promote the concept of computing as a service, which is far more advanced, secure and efficient than regular computing and comes at a fairly low price, said the release.

“Novatium’s Nova netPC is a powerful, while being an affordable and simple, desktop. We have made it very user friendly so that it can now be operated like any household appliance at the touch of a button,”said Alok Singh, CEO, Novatium.

The vision of Novatium, he added, is to provide powerful yet simple and affordable computing for the next billion.

The BSNL Nova netPC is the world’s first $100 PC, therefore it carries an obvious promise of being accessible to the masses of India, said the release.

According to the makers, the netPC is not only the most affordable computer, but unlike any other computer available in the market, it is an entirely maintenance free PC - free from the hassles of antivirus installations, software upgradations, data loss, while being extremely powerful.

The van will cover 26 areas around the city over a period of 26 days, said the release.
