Brother printers enters HP territory

NEW DELHI: Brother International, a Japanese electronics major, has entered the Multi Function Devices (MFD) space in the country by launching a range of Inkjet and Laser based Multi function Centers (MFCs).



The company has appointed Godrej as their national distributor to ensure extensive reach, penetration and network to effectively market the MFCs.



Anand Kumar, country manager - Brother in India said, "Our objective is to enhance our presence in the country by offering our Multi Function Centers an effective value proposition to the end customer".



o the press release, Brother has launched eight MFCs with four each in the inkjet and laser category, targeting various segments of the market. In the inkjet range, the company has launched `Fax 1820’ (Fax and Printing) an entry level model, followed by MFC 3220C (5 in 1, sheet fed, Multi Function Fax and Printing), MFC 3420C (5 in 1 Flatbed) & MFC 3820C (Flat bed, photo capture and Network Ready). In the laser MFC range, the company has launched MFC 9660, DCP 8020, 8025D and MFC 8820D.





Brother along with Godrej will be conducting focused channel and end user programs through multi-channel promotions utilizing above the line and below the line methods.





The Brother Fax 1820C is positioned as an entry level model and is a 3 in 1 (fax, printer and telephone), while Brother MFC 3220C is a 5 in 1 (print, fax, copy, scan and PC fax), Brother MFC 3420C and MFC 3820C are flatbed fax, copier and scanner to cater to the imaging needs of the office. In fact MFC 3820C is a 6 in 1 with an additional facility of photo capture (direct printing from digital camera media) and is network ready.
