Brother Intl launches P-Touch range of labeling system

PUNE: Brother International has launched the P-Touch range of labeling systems, an electronic machine that creates instant printed labels. The company has launched three models - PT 2300, PT 1750 and PT 65 - to target various segments of the market. Anand Kumar, Country Manager - Brother in India said, "We hope to pioneer a concept that would enable the user to enjoy ultimate convenience and experience productivity in a simple task of labeling, thereby aiding one to get organised with various activities, be it the office or home."


While PT 2300 is positioned as a high-end model with versatility and PC connectivity, PT 1750 is positioned for the variety and feature seeking customer with AC mains supply. PT 65 is positioned as an entry-level low end labeling machine for the price sensitive customer.



These products caters to the needs of home, office, business, school or industrial applications. The company initially plans to focus in eight cities across the country namely the four metros, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kochi and Pune with a subsequent roll out to other cities. The P-Touch Label printers would be available through distributors in the IT/OA/Supplies Channel and some select supermarkets. Every P-Touch machine has the plain label roll. By switching on the machine, one can type the contents of the label which needs to be created. Just like typing in a PC or calculator and then press the print key, the label gets printed instantly.


By peeling off the paper behind the kind of label you can stick it wherever one wants. Brother has six different kinds of label tapes viz Laminated, fluorescent, industrial, security, metallic and fabric tape, available in 8 meter rolls and can be tailored to suit different kind of applications. The only consumable in the machine is the roll and this can be acquired from the market place.


Brother's range of products include fax machines, multi function products, laser printers, label printers, stamp creators, electronic typewriters, home sewing machines, industrial sewing machines. The group has manufacturing facilities in USA, UK, Malaysia, China and Japan.
