Going Green, which is the main theme of this year’s event, has also been a strong focus of the British Midlands region. Both the British Midlands and NASSCOM have realized the importance of conserving energy and protecting the environment. This forum has been especially created to identify various solutions to the environmental problems that are being faced not only in India but across the world today.

The devastating impact of climate change has become an issue of critical importance today and it has become evident that effective solutions to these problems are the need of the hour.  The region believes that it is imperative to undertake initiatives to not only help the UK solve its problems of pollution but across the world as well.

The British Midlands understands the huge potential business rewards for research in the field of alternative sources of energy. The region offers varied assistance to all companies as well the numerous universities situated in the region that work together in research and development in this field

Commenting on this priority, Chandrika Shah, country representative, British Midlands said: “It is an extremely good opportunity that NASSCOM has presented especially in the sector of clean and green energy. The British Midlands region has been particularly interested in renewing as well as forging new relationships with companies that work towards finding alternate sources of energy and putting them to greater use in all sectors and industries.

“This forum offers participants a platform to liaise with various industry leaders and opinion makers, interact with them and also discuss future business possibilities. With the price of oil continuing to be volatile and carbon emissions increasing, we need to introduce alternatives to the petrol and diesel engines. This forum will help companies in both India as well as the British Midlands region to come together to work towards finding and using new alternative sources of energy,” she added.
