e-con brings Wi-Fi, Bluetooth add-on module

CHENNAI, INDIA: e-con Systems Inc., an embedded product development services company based in St. Louis, MO, launched its Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module, e-WiB.

e-WiB is a 802.11b/g SDIO module and it has also got Bluetooth on it. This Wi-Fi module along with Bluetooth work through SDIO interface and is bundled with Alioth Development platform which is unique in terms of application-specific carrier board, specifically designed for industrial applications such as Industrial Controllers, In-Vehicle Telematics, Vehicle Mount Systems, Test & Measurement Equipment, Mobile devices and MIDs WebPads.

“The e-WiB add-on module is a new offering from e-con Systems for Wi-Fi Bluetooth applications with standard driver support for customers who want on-board solution with a provision for external antenna connection. This makes the e-WiB solution as easy as plugging a SDIO card, still offering the flexibility of having an external antenna as per their requirements.” said Ashok Babu, president, e-con Systems.

This module currently supports Windows CE 6.0 R3 BSP and currently on Alioth rapid development kit.

The e-WiB module is available with Windows CE 6.0 R3 support starting from 1st of September 2010.
