Owing to the tremendous growth of the IT-BPO industry in India as well as the current focus of integrating IT and ICT in all spheres of development, computer literacy and IT skills has become a key to employment in urban areas, said a press release.

India has been a growing hub for the BPO industry for more than a decade now and in recent years the industry has expanded to newer locations building a base in Tier II and Tier III Cities, which could help Puducherry as a preferred destination for such services.

Dr. Reddy's Foundation (DRF), Hyderabad and Accenture had trained master trainers from PMSSS. With NASSCOM Foundation's support, PMSSS is launching the first training centre in Puducherry where training will include BPO proficiency, life skills, communication and computer skills.
