MUMBAI: BPL Mobile and e-infrastructure solutions provider Venture Infotek
have announced a tie-up to launch Electronic Topup for the first time in India.
The statement released by the company said that with the availability of the
technology customers could electronically recharge their pre-paid cards at any
participating outlet with a denomination (minimum Rs 250) of their choice. With
the prepaid segment growing rapidly, this is a step towards facilitating easy
handling of the product for the subscribers, an official said.
BPL Mobile and Venture Infotek have also launched a mobile bill payment
system through which the post-paid subscribers could pay their BPL Mobile bills
using credit/debit cards, at any participating outlet. With the mobile bill
payment system customers could enjoy the credit period, the facility of
revolving credit as well as loyalty benefits from credit card issuers. Initially
the pilot project would be run in Coimbatore and Pondicherry.
According to Brij Mohandas, president-corporate & emerging business,
Venture Infotek, "We have taken complete operational responsibility
including deployment of terminals and transaction processing. We will soon take
this project nationwide."
