BPL mobile announces new tariff plans

PUNE: BPL Mobile has launched new tariff plans for their subscribers in

Maharashtra and Goa after announcing a reduction in airtime rates. The new

tariff plans at making mobile phones affordable to the ordinary man.

The company has announced the launch of Business Plus - a new tariff plan for

its Club Mobile subscribers with a flat airtime rate of Rs 2 per minute. The

earlier rates were Rs 3.95 per minute for an outgoing call and Rs 1.60 per

minute for an incoming call. Under this facility, subscribers can make calls to

Nagpur, Nashik, Kolhapur, Panaji and Solapur at the rate of Rs 3.20 per minute,

said Vinay Agarwal, chief operating officer of the company.

BPL Mobile has announced the launch of Executive Plus for subscribers with a

medium level of use. This will entail a monthly rental of Rs 295. An outgoing

plan according to this tariff plan will be charged at the rate of Rs 3.95 per

minute and an incoming one at the rate of Rs 2.25 per minute. The roaming

subscribers in Mumbai will be charged at the rate of Rs 4.20 per minute.

A reduction in the price of `Mobile on the spot' (MOTS) has also been

announced by the company. A pre-paid card will now cost Rs 699 (talktime of Rs

325) packaged with STD and ISD facilities. Consequently a recharge voucher will

now cost Rs 500 instead of Rs 630.

The value packages offered for Club Mobile subscribers include `Value Pa',

Super Pac' and Jumbo Pac which offer benefits such as free incoming calls from

BPL Mobile numbers, happy hours and mobile STD. BPL Mobile now covers nearly 80

cities in Maharashtra and Goa.
